Lubrication Analysis
Proper lubrication can increase energy efficiency and reduce premature bearing failures and machine downtime. However, if the quality of your lubricant is compromised, it can instead have a negative impact on machinery health.
Our Lubrication analysis service will detect any lubricant changes that can negatively affect the machine's service life or performance. Various parameters are studied in the lubrication analysis process: water content, wear and additive elements, and the lubricant's “fingerprint”. We can also detect particles that can indicate abnormal wear or impending failure.
A lubricant that proves to be in poor condition can, for example, indicate problems with the choice of lubricant, entry of water, grease volumes or periodic lubrication intervals.
For the analysis, a sample of the used lubricant and a reference sample of the unused lubricant is sent to SKF’s lubrication lab for analysis.
Recommendations produced in consultation with lubricant and bearing specialists will then highlight the correct measures to take in order to extend the lubricant's and/or the machine’s service life.
